My story |
From a young age I felt I was destined to work in the healing field. I was lucky to have parents that sought out natural and alternative medicine.
My mother, Marijke started studying reflexology when I was in high school so I received many treatments and she taught me what she learned. Seeing the power in this healing modality, it inspired me to study massage of all different forms. I studied Remedial massage at Nature Care College in Sydney and also delved into Naturopathy, Polarity Therapy, Bush and Bach Flower Essences and Holistic Counselling. During my studies I worked at The Australian Bush Flower Essences dispensary learning and soaking up all the information I could about the essence's. During my teens I had some big wake up calls that set me onto my spiritual path to find inner peace and the deeper meaning to my life. I explored different styles of meditation/creative visualisation, Yoga and was privileged to assist in many sound/toning and Self development workshops with Steven Cottee, teacher at 'School of Life' in Sydney. Doing workshops with Chris James and other healers that recognised the voice as a powerful instrument in healing and self expression as well as training in creative counselling and sacred theatre, I discovered my love for sound and the healing power of self-expression through voice, movement and expressive arts. My love for different styles of massage lead me into discovering Hawaiian bodywork, a beautiful ancient form of massage used traditionally as a rites of passage. Training with the School of Kahuna Sciences in Mullumbimby and travelling to Hawaii to learn from a Kahuna of linage was a life changing experience. |

I went on to study Chinese Acupressure massage which opened the possibility of treating deeper internal conditions through the acupuncture points and meridians. This training is what lead me to study acupuncture and Chinese herbs at the Sydney Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine. At the conclusion of my studies I spent 3 months in China in a TCM hospital learning from some of the leading TCM doctors in Beijing.
Travel is a massive love of mine and has shaped me over the years, having spent time at many of the power spots around the world has awakened so much for me. I am forever grateful to this amazing being mother earth in all her myriad of expressions and beauty.
Leaving behind my clinic in Sydney in 2009 to follow my dream of running a healing centre in Byron Bay was a big change and also one of the best decisions I have made. I worked for a few different local businesses including the 5 star spa at The Byron @ Byron and Kiva Spa in Mullumbimby while I built up my practice.
In 2011 I discovered my deep connection to yoga through a Sivananda yoga class. Before this i never really felt like yoga did all the things it claimed to do. This one class changed my life, made me realise what real yoga was all about, and so set me on a journey to discover more. After 6 months of doing regular classes, I was drawn to do the Teachers training course in India in Feb 2012. Since then I have been dedicated to integrating my spiritual practice into my daily life through Meditation, chanting and yoga practice.
I finished my studies of Transpersonal arts therapy in Brisbane in 2017 which gave me a tool to access the subconscious, and assist people in traveling to altered states of consciousness via expressive therapies to gain deeper insight, open intuition and strengthen their connection to source.
My most recent passion has been sound medicine. Having worked at the crystal castle for 5 years leading the crystal and sound healing and music of the plants workshops I discovered how powerful the healing effects of sound can be. I am currently integrating sound medicine into my sessions with crystal and Tibetan singing bowls, Acutonics tuning forks on the acupuncture points and voice. I have now completed level 4 of Acutonics training and looking forward to continuing my studies in this pioneering field. Biofield Tuning™ is the latest modality I have been blessed to have studied just before covid lock down, which enabled me to give sessions online, It uses tuning forks as well as crystal and other sound tools to bring balance to the chakras and the auric field.
Gathering all that I have learned together I also run Women's feminine embodiment retreats offering a combination of the Transpersonal Art therapy along with, yoga, meditation, dance, ritual and women's circles - such transformational and powerful work. I have held workshops / yoga and sound healings at festivals and retreats throughout the east coast of Australia.
I also offer a monthly Kirtan (chanting) night 'Mantra Medicine' in Mullumbimby with my dear soul sister Seriya Cutbush were we bring together community to join voices and hearts and raise our vibration and tap into the powerful tool that mantra is to uplift clear the mind and awaken our souls.
House of Bliss is another community collective I am part of were we bring together community to chant and meditate together monthly. The 2nd Saturday of every month at the Memorial hall in Brunswick heads.
I was part of a beautiful team of acupuncturists who for the last 10 years have run regular affordable acupuncture sessions at Community Acupuncture in Mullumbimby.
My passion is to help people to remember that they have deep peace and stillness already within them, assisting people in balancing their health & empowering them in their own healing process.
Blessings of light and love
